1. Introduction to the User Interface
• Overview of Mastercam’s interface and navigation
2. Mastercam Design
• Working with wireframes, creating drawings and modelling
• Using wireframes to create solid models, and vice versa
• Creating and editing stock material
• Using model prep features for editing
• Effectively utilizing Mastercam managers
3. Job Setup
• Correct machine setup in Mastercam
• Setup for Lathe and Milling machines
• Tool settings and configuration
• Creation of stock models
4. Feeds and Speeds Calculation for Drilling
• Understanding the formulas used to calculate feeds and speeds for drilling operations
5. Lathe Toolpaths
• Programming various Lathe toolpaths: Face, Rough, Finish, Groove, Thread, Drill, Cut Off, Part Handling, and
Library tools
• Key parameters for each toolpath
• Complete part programming from start to finish
6. Mill 2D Toolpaths
• Programming essential 2D milling toolpaths: Face, Dynamic Mill, Peel Mill, Pocket, Slot Mill, Contour, Model
Chamfer, Drill, Tap, Spot Drill, Engraving, Helix Bore, and Circle Mill
• Selecting and creating tools from the library
• Key parameters for each toolpath
7. Mill 3D Toolpaths
• Programming 3D milling toolpaths: Opti Rough, Waterline, Raster, Horizontal, Hybrid, Equal Scallop, Radial,
and Pencil
• Key parameters for each 3D toolpath
8. Verifying the toolpath.
• Running simulations to verify toolpath accuracy
• Collision checking and model comparison
• Ensuring the machined part matches the design model
5 days Training Course – 08:00am – 16:00pm

The Mastercam Essentials Training Course is designed for individuals looking to develop foundational to intermediate skills in Mastercam programming. Participants will gain the confidence and knowledge needed to navigate the Mastercam interface and program a part from start to finish.
Upon completion of the Mastercam Essentials Training, you will be able to:
• Confidently program basic parts for a 2-Axis Lathe and 3-Axis Mill
• Navigate Mastercam’s user interface with ease
• Understand lathe toolpaths and 2D/3D milling toolpaths
• Follow a structured approach to programming
• Program a part from start to finish, including:
o Design and create the part
o Setting up the machine
o Programming the part
o Simulating the program
