SOLIDWORKS CAM course covers the basics of using the software to create toolpaths and generate CNC code for machining parts. The course cover topics such as:

  • Introduction to SOLIDWORKS CAM,
  • Setting up a machining project,
  • Creating and modifying toolpaths,
  • Using automatic feature recognition,
  • Optimizing toolpaths for efficiency and accuracy,
  • Generating CNC code, and,
  • Post-processing and simulation.

SOLIDWORKS Cam Standard:

Day 1

Module 1: SOLIDWORKS Cam Basics and user interface
Module 2: Automated Feature recognition (AFR) and operation modification
Module 3: Interactive feature recognition (IFR)
Module 4: Interactive operations
Module 5: Merging features and operations

Day 2

Module 6: Avoid and contain areas
Module 7: Pattern features and mirror toolpaths
Module 8: Advance feature and operations
Module 9: Customizing the technology database

Skill Prerequisites

  • Mechanical design experience.
  • Completed the SOLIDWORKS Essentials course.
  • Experience with the Windows® operating system.
  • Fundamental knowledge of plastic materials. plastic part design and/or injection mold design.
