SOLIDWORKS CAM course covers the basics of using the software to create toolpaths and generate CNC code for machining parts. The course cover topics such as:

  • Introduction to SOLIDWORKS CAM,
  • Setting up a machining project,
  • Creating and modifying toolpaths,
  • Using automatic feature recognition,
  • Optimizing toolpaths for efficiency and accuracy,
  • Generating CNC code, and,
  • Post-processing and simulation.

Day 3

Module 1: SOLIDWORKS Cam Configurations
Module 2: High Speed machining (Volumill)
Module 3: Assembly machining
Module 4: 3 plus 2 Machining

Day 4

Module 5: Turning Basics
Module 6: Chucks, Id features and operations
Module 7: Modifying feature and operation parameters
Module 8: Probing

Skill Prerequisites

  • Mechanical design experience.
  • Completed the SOLIDWORKS Essentials course.
  • Experience with the Windows® operating system.
  • Fundamental knowledge of plastic materials. plastic part design and/or injection mold design.
